Together with the Mama Earth Foundation, we launched a school project between a school in Kiel (Germany) and a school in Mati (Mindanao, Philippines) following Andreas' trip to Mati in summer 2024.
As there is no drinking water supply at the school in Mati, the schoolchildren buy almost 800 new plastic bottles of mineral water combined every day. All these bottles then end up in the rubbish and possibly even in the sea. The aim of our new initiative is to provide the children with drinking water and reduce plastic waste.
So that the pupils do not have to buy new water bottles for school every day, the Mama Earth Foundation and the Meaalofa Foundation have bought 10 water dispensers for the school, which are regularly refilled with large reusable 25-litre water bottles.
The availability of these water dispensers in the school saves families money on water bottles, the children are supplied with drinking water every day and a large amount of plastic waste can be avoided.
The project has already started.
