How we work

  • We achieve our goals either through our own activities or by strengthening and supporting partners who are working towards these goals.

  • Our approach is always pragmatic and holistic. When we support other projects, we make sure that the work there is as similar as possible.

  • We are grounded in reality and are always open to learning from experience and getting better.

  • We are prepared to take risks and even fail once in a while if it means we can try out new things and develop further.

  • We see great potential in all people and strive to enable each individual to develop their talents.

  • We believe that we cannot or should not tackle all our goals alone, but that working in partnership with other organizations is the way forward. Wherever possible, we try to make collaborations a reality.

  • We believe that we are not on a sprint but on a marathon and therefore need staying power. That's what we adjust to in our projects.

  • We believe in constant change and permanent evolution. Nothing stands still and remains as it was. We must therefore always be open to new developments and integrate them into our work.

  • We are very careful and economical with our resources and always try to take the most efficient approach possible.

  • We work with volunteers where possible, but we also see that for certain activities continuity is absolutely necessary and paid positions must be created for this purpose.

  • We are always looking for ways to scale our projects. If we cannot scale ourselves, then we pass on all the necessary information and experience so that other organizations can work successfully in the same areas.

  • Of course, the UN Development Goals also apply to our own actions. Therefore, we always try to save resources, protect the environment and, if possible, leave the places where we work in a better condition than we found them ourselves.

We support the UN Sustainable Development Goals

After lengthy preparatory work and various preliminary stages, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted in 2015.

Learn more about the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The world needs common goals and a vision of where development should go. That is why we consider these 17 goals to be elementary and want to work on their realization.

With our own and supported projects, we are currently addressing the following goals:
